Sennheiser Announces Several Wireless Bluetooth Headphones For CES 2017
CES 2017 has been a wonderful event for news. Sennheiser announced the release of three new bluetooth headphones: the MOMENTUM wireless, the HD4.40BT, and the HD4.50BTNC

First, we have the MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless Black in-ear monitors. They are supposed to be incredibly light, portable, and have absolutely stunning sound quality. I didn’t get a chance to audition them but they are fully bluetooth 4.1 equipped, they can handle apt-x codecs, they have an integrated mic, AND a pretty big 10 hour battery life. The controls are sleek as well.
The pricing should be around 200 euros, a clear upgrade (at least in price) from the current iteration of the IEM momentums.

The MOMENTUM in-ear Wireless should be available later this month.

Secondly, we have the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT Wireless headphones.

These are full sized cans. The earcups look like they have gigantic marshmallows molded onto them, and if these are the same pads I have tried in the past, they extremely comfortable.
As for the juicy details, Sennheiser states that:
The closed-back, around-ear headset features Bluetooth 4.0 and aptX compatibility to deliver true Hi-Fi sound with a satisfyingly dynamic bass. Its elegantly minimalistic design has been crafted from robust, high-quality materials to meet the requirements of the street.
Apart from that–and much to my surprise–the features weren’t really posted apart from some basic specs. An impedence of 18 ohms and a frequency range of 18 – 22,000 Hz. I’d like to have seen a bit more posted. However, there is a chance that the specs are the exact same as the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Wireless headphones, which is why they weren’t posted for these cans. If they are the same, then these headphones are super portable as they can fold into a compact shape for carrying.

A numeric increase of 0.1. Oh, and also a NC tacked on for “noise cancelling”.
I didn’t just post the same picture as the earlier 4.40s! The headphones look nearly identical, but they are actually aesthetically different.
If history is any indication, these will likely be a direct competitor to other Bluetooth headphones in a similar or even higher price bracket, such as the Bose Quietcomfort 35 (Current Price on Amazon) or the Beats Solo Wireless (Current Price on Amazon).
Fortunately, this pair of headphones DOES have extra details. Sennheiser zooms in on the earcups to reveal physical buttons that you press to enable/disable noise cancellation. Presumably the same buttons also allow you to receive calls, pause music, etc.
Lastly, the Sennheiser HD 4.50BTNC packs a MASSIVE 19 hour battery life with noise cancelling on, and it gets boosted even further to 25 hours with noise cancellation off.
The HD 4.40BT will be available near the end of January, and the HD 4.50BTNC is expected to ship in February.
